Kyan Douglas Fills Us In On Life After “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy”

This past Wednesday (Jan 13), we attended the 2010 FSF Geoffrey Beene National Scholarship Awards hosted by model and host of “America’s Most Smart Model,” Mary Alice Stephenson.

The awards dinner took place at Cipriani Mid-Town. In the name of fashion, all honorees, nominees and guests were fiercely stylish.

Micah Jesse was able to catch up with Kyan Douglas, our favorite and hottest (don’t tell Carson) cast member of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.”

MJ: What are you currently doing right now?

KD: I have two gigs going on right now. One is that I contribute to “The Rachael Ray” show, so I do beauty segments for them. And the other is that I am the spokesperson and consultant for a new hair brand. It actually just launched, its call HerCut and it is hair care for your haircut. The first ever styling brand that is designed to accentuate the attributes of your haircut.

MJ: Are you using it right now?

KD: I am actually. I have a little bit of Pixie in my hair right now. To make a long story short, I was in New York and then “Queer Eye” finished and I moved to LA for a while, did this show called “Ten Years Younger,” and then that finished and I’ve made my way back to New York – but I did a really long cross country rode trip. So I’ve just kind of landed back here and I feel sort of out of the fashion loop to tell you the truth.

MJ: Are you settled in New York or are you going to be going back to LA?

KD: I’m definitely going to be moving around. I just got a place in the city, so I’m kind of settled here, but I know me…I’m a wanderer. I’m a traveler.
