Taylor Swift is ready to take center stage on the big screen.
The country crooner is circling the role of Joni Mitchell in the movie adaptation of Sheila Weller’s ”Girls Like Us,” reports Showblitz. The film, which would be Taylor’s first big onscreen role, follows the careers of “Mitchell, Carly Simon and Carole King, whose success reflected, enervated and shaped the feminist movement that grew up with them.” While an official offer has yet to be made, Swift has been linked to this role for quite a while, and other actresses have gone in for auditions for the roles of Simon and King. ”Girls Like Us” hasn’t been greenlit yet, but it is expected to be, with production starting later this year.
This role could be perfect for Taylor! She definitely has the right look and the musical ability to play Mitchell.
