Black History Month is upon us! We had the privilege of screening “The Black List: Volume Three” Wednesday night (Feb 3) at The Paley Center for Media.
“The Black List: Volume Three” is the latest installment of HBO‘s critically accliamed Black List documentaries by filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and journalist Elvis Mitchell.
The film was moving to say the least. There were many times we just couldn’t help but clap after an inspiring interview with a notable, such as Lee Daniels, Whoopi Goldberg, John Legend or Beverly Johnson, who were all featured in the film.
Elvis Mitchell, who hosts the interviews in the film, took a joke from Chris Rock saying, “Why is February Black History Month?”
“Because the man wouldn’t give us a full thirty days.”
The audience erupted in laughter at that one…I mean Chris Rock is hysterical.
Greenfield-Sanders noted that “We hope to continue with the series.”
Watch the premiere of “The Black List: Volume Three” on HBO next Monday (Feb 8) at 8:30pm EST.
After screening the documentary, we left feeling very humble, smarter and more knowledgeable about life.
Bring on Volume Four!!!
