I am old enough to remember when Elvis Presley came on the scene. America was "shocked" and he was censored on TV. Had a nickname of "Elvis the pelvis". Didn't hurt him much. Does this brew-ha-ha sound familiar with Adam.

As a mother of a son Adam's age I was a little surprised, but not "shocked" by the AMA, but certainly not going to stop being a fan. If you listened to any of his post AMA interviews he explained himself very eloquently. He did admit getting carried away and it was not prime time TV. He will learn and grow from this experience. And for ABC to say he doesn't know the difference between a late night performance and early morning one is absurd - and only using it as an excuse. Adam did the ABC GMA early show this summer and was outstanding. Also, he instead performed yesterday on the CBS Early Morning Show and did a great interview and sang two songs from his album with his band. He also sang last night on David Letterman.

In regard to fans - Adam most likely did loose some AI fans that only want the boy next door Adam and didn't research his per-idol music or performances. But here's the thing, for every fan he lost, more took their place. Especially among people that never heard of him before. It is a demographic shift. His twitter account alone jumped by 10K followers in the two days after the AMA performance. His album sales have been rising on the charts, as are the singles from the album for download. Everybody is talking about him pro and con.

So no, ladies and gentlemen, in a funny way this is actually going to launch him to stardom even faster. Just like the greats that came before him shrouded in controversy. He will be fine. I love his music and he has outstanding vocal skills. Let's all get back to the important issue - his great music!
