Adam Lambert dropped by “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on Tuesday (Jan 19) to talk about what’s changed since January of last year, when he was just a musical theater kid with crazy vocal range and “American Idol” dreams.
“I think my biggest concern going into it was, ‘I’m a little left of center for this whole ‘American Idol’ thing,’ ” said Lambert — or the “wild child,” as Winfrey called him. “I’m so glad they took a chance on me.”
The glam pop singer also stood his ground on his “frisky, risqué” performance at the American Music Awards (“There’s no regrets for me,” he told the talk show host) and said that while he’s proud to be openly gay, he’d like to be known as a singer first.
