To know Clive Davis is to love him. And most of America’s top selling artists have worked very closely with him, including the late Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson, Britney Spears, Tony Bennett, Alicia Keys, Usher and many more!
The legendary music man was celebrated this week at an event at L.A. hot spot The Redbury, where Billboard revealed their 2013 Power 100 List at an exclusive event, presented by Citi®, with leading music industry professionals.
The evening culminated with Clive Davis being honored with the Billboard Musical Visionary Award for his A&R work. The award will be renamed to Billboard’s Clive Davis Musical Visionary Award for future recipients.
This weekend, at the annual GRAMMY Awards, Clive will hold his annual party and will honor the life of Whitney Houston. After the jump, the Power 100 list and video of Clive and R&B artist Miguel talking about about Whitney.

George Clooney‘s girlfriend Stacy Keibler stopped by Sofia Vergara‘s table to say hello and the beauties turned heads as they posed for photos together. Justin Timberlake performed a full set for a packed crowd, including some of his hits as well as introducing some new songs.

The night before the big game, former NFL star and Live! with Michael and Kelly host Michael Strahan and FOX Sports personality Erin Andrews, hosted the VIP Third Annual Tequila Don Julio Sports & Entertainment dinner at the Audi Forum New Orleans. Andrews and Strahan were excited to come together with their close friends and family to trade opinions on the outcome of the Super Bowl, but the two were aligned on the 49ers as the expected victor. Alicia Keys Unveils The Empire State Building’s New LED Tower Lights
New York City just got soooooo much cooler… all thanks to megasuperstar Alicia Keys!
At 9:00 p.m. ET on November 26th, Alicia helped kick off the most KICK ASS light show by flipping the switch on The Empire State Building, prompting a synchronized showcase of two of her hottest tracks—her single from her new album “Girl on Fire,” followed by (one of my ultimate favorite songs ever) “Empire State of Mind.”
This is the coolest part ever though– all Clear Channel radio stations—Z100, 103.5 KTU, Power105, and 106.7 Lite fm—all simultaneously played the music to the light show. (Apparently the new state-of-the-art LED technology the building has installed features 16 million colors. Incredible.)
Big lights will inspire you. Let’s hear it for New York, New York, New York!
Watch this amazingness!!!!!!!!!

“Stick Fly” chronicles the interactions and revelations within a well-to-do black family at its home in Martha’s Vineyard. Ms. Keys said in a statement that the play “is so beautifully written and portrays black America in a way that we don’t often get to see in entertainment.”
Performances begin at the Cort Theater in NYC on November 18th! Check out the Official “Stick Fly” website for more information and to get your tickets now.

Micah Jesse sat down with John Legend at the P&G GIVE Education “School the Nation” campaign where the 9-time Grammy award winning recording artist was on hand to help fight the drop-out crisis in schools.
Micah Jesse: Obviously education is extremely important to you…what would your advice be to a student who is contemplating dropping out of school?
John Legend: My advice to them is, ‘it’s just NOT an option!’ There is no logical incentive for anybody to drop out of high school because the options that you have coming out of high school early without a degree, without a diploma are so limited in this country. We already have high unemployment… The unemployment rate is 9% but its only 4% for college graduates…so it makes big difference weather or not you graduate from college and the only way your going to get there is if you graduate from High School.
So, to me, as a student, it’s a no-brainer. Dropping out of high school is not an option. If you look at it that way you have to say, “ill do whatever it takes!” Ask for help, get tutoring, get mentoring, whatever it takes.
But that doesn’t let adults off the hook. Because adults have to do the right thing to provide support to kids to make sure they don’t drop out of school. To make sure they’re not that frustrated to the point where they feel like they have to drop out. That starts young. That starts with great teaching, great principals, everything. We need school systems that are set up to give kids the support they need to graduate and Communities and Schools is filling in the gap. Where maybe schools don’t have all the resources to do these things, Communities and Schools are doing all that, which is why we are here to support them.
