MJ Fave: Rug-sessing Over Graphic Print Area Rugs! — CONTEST
Like you, I know what I like when I see it. I’ve always loved (and am good at) shopping for food, clothes and party supplies. But, I never expected to love decorating my home as much as I do.
I’ve lived on my own in New York City for about four years now and I love the “lived in” feel of my apartment. I add life to my apartment with a bamboo plant or two, personal photos, an heirloom or two (I use my Father’s trunk from college as my coffee table), and scented candles (favorites include Diptique, Fresh and Jo Malone). But, one thing has been missing from my space all along: a graphic print area rug. I can’t seem to read a lifestyle or home decor blog or magazine without spotting all sorts of punky patterns and sensational shaped rugs. The more I see them, the more “rug-sessed” I get!Read More

Spotlight Interview With Electro Pop Artist BAKER
He’s sexy, he’s smart (…went to Harvard!) and he makes music that will make you get on your feet and dance. Meet BAKER. The hottest new face in the world of Electro Pop music. Micah Jesse caught up with Baker:
Describe to me when you first knew you wanted to make music. What was it about making music and/or performing that attracted you?
When I was 8 years old at summer camp, it was my counselor’s idea for all of us to perform “Stand By Me” for the other groups. I remember the counselor loved my voice so much she put the microphone right in front of me, so even though everyone was singing, the crowd could only hear me. And I think on the surface, I enjoyed the attention (I still do) but really it was more about communication. If someone has a voice of their own – whether that means singing or public speaking or writing, they should develop it and share it.
- …to the “electro pop” genre specifically?
That’s the style that fit my writing and my voice the best; it was a pretty clear choice right from the start.
Who do you make music for? Who is your target audience?
I don’t have one; I’ve been amazed by how many different people of all ages and places and walks of life that have discovered my music, so I hope it only continues to expand.Read More

Christina Aguilera Talks Self-Image And Single Motherhood!
In the new issue of Marie Claire magazine (February 2012), pop singer Christina Aguilera sounds off on her self-image and the ups and downs of raising her son, Max, as a single mother.
All in all, it sounds like X-Tina is in a very good place — which is good news to us!
On her body: “I’ve been through my highs, I’ve been through my lows; I’ve been through the gamut of all things in this business. Being too thin. Being bigger. I’ve been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It’s noise I block out automatically. I love my body. My boyfriend loooves my body. My son is healthy and happy, so that’s all that matters to me.”
On single motherhood: “It’s hard not having the consistency of a partnership on a daily basis. It’s a struggle. But I can’t single out my ex-husband [as the problem] because he’s a devoted father and great with my son. We always make sure that we put Max first. I have help from family and good people around me in support of my career. I couldn’t do what I do without a strong team behind me.”

Christina Aguilera’s Boyfriend ‘A Very Nice Guy’ – EXCLUSIVE!
Christina Aguilera and her new beau, Matthew Rutler, were both arrested last night in West Hollywood for charges relating to alcohol abuse. Alas, the internet was abuzz today calling Matthew the source of Christina’s problems, dubbing him a “bad influence” and an “instigator.” (This coming from X-Tina’s friends.)
But it turns out — this couldn’t be further from the truth!
“Matt was a very nice guy in high school. I think, if anything, he is a good influence on her,” a high school friend of Rutler tells Micah Jesse exclusively, adding that “he blew the breathalyzer at a 0.9 while a 0.8 is the legal limit. He missed it by a hair! He’ll be okay.”
Genie needs to stop hitting the bottle and hit the studio instead.

Jillian Michaels: Eat Healthier This Super Bowl! – TIPS & TRICKS!
With Super Bowl Sunday less than two weeks away, Jillian Michaels, one of the leading health and wellness experts, has come up with some healthy eating tips for a typically unhealthy day!
Whether you’re rooting for the Packers or Steelers, or just want to see Christina Aguilera belt out the National Anthem or catch The Black Eyed Peas halftime show, take a look at these six easy tips from Jillian to help football fans (and those of you who just like to watch the ads) eat healthier during this year’s big game while still enjoying the parties and fun!
1. Snacking Is A Hard Habit To Break…So Don’t!
Choose a healthier chip alternative like my favorite one, popchips, which is popped not fried and forego the fried unhealthy chips like Doritos and Cheetos.
2. Steer Clear Of Calorie-Filled Condiments!
It’s important to avoid high calorie condiments like ketchup, mustard and mayo. Instead, garnish your football fare with avocado and fresh organic veggies.
3. Watch Your Alcohol Consumption!
If possible, skip alcohol completely this Super Bowl Sunday or, at the very least, go with a light beer that is low in calories.
4. Guilt-Free Nachos!
Nachos & cheese are a staple of many game day fiestas. Instead of nachos drenched in cheese opt for sides of black beans, guacamole, fresh salsa and plain Greek yogurt with organic corn chips.
5. Choose A Healthier Burger!
For most, football Sunday’s go hand in hand with burgers. Instead of greasy, fatty meats go for a healthier option of lean grass fed or corn fed beef.
6. Buns That Won’t Send You Running For The Stairmaster!
Bread consumption is a major issue for most looking to lose weight and trim down in the New Year. This Super Bowl Sunday, substitute bleached white bread for whole grain buns when eating your game day sandwiches.Read More

The Most Golden Globes Of All: The Georgia Peach Takes A Bite Of Hollywood!
The most Golden Globes of all. Well, I’m allowed to say that because it was my first. This experience alone could be a chapter in my documentary. Oh, where to begin?
On the morning of, I woke up from my suite at The Sofitel in Beverly Hills at 8:00 AM (thanks to a lovely wake-up call), excited (that’s an understatement) to pick-up my credentials for The Golden Globe Awards. [Huge thanks to Michael S. at SSA!]
A 10-minute taxi ride later, I arrived to The Beverly Hilton to what looked like an official FBI zone, with suited security personnel donning jet-black glasses, cautiously manning every corner of the building and the surrounding streets. “Hi. Good morning. Where do I check in?” I asked. They briskly showed me towards the media credentialing room, where I had my picture taken and was given my special laminated credential.
I felt like a million bucks.
Upon leaving, my friend and I decided to take a morning stroll to Rodeo Drive to “window shop.” Really, it was my idea and a selfish excuse to revel in my own personal euphoria with no distractions. Here I was in the moment, a kid from Georgia with huge dreams…and the next, checking in at The Golden Globes. Totally surreal. The following 15 minutes I spent staring at my credential, only glancing up periodically to make sure I didn’t run into pole or anything.
Fast forward. Our so-called-”stroll” ended up lasting the rest of the morning and early afternoon, as we took an “adventure” around Los Angeles.
We must have walked 10 or 15 miles.
The weather was gorgeous and we didn’t have a plan so walking seemed like a fun idea. My friend and I kept looking at each other and said, “this is our exercise for the week.”
Well, no one. And I mean no one (other than, say, homeless people) walk the streets of Los Angeles, apparently.
How was I to know? I’m a New Yorker. We walk! And how was I to know that when you put your arm out to hail a taxi, they don’t do that in L.A.? (I’m aware of how silly I was for thinking L.A. was the West Coast New York. It is so very different.)
Approaching our, say, 15th mile, we started to get tired, so we made a “pit stop” at Starbucks for a cold bev, at which point my friend turns to me and exclaims, “I can’t believe you’re going to the Golden Globes! I’m so excited for you!!!”
This is when my world shattered…Read More
