…well, sort of!
Today, Estefan Enterprises and the Nederlander Organization announced they have begun to develop and produce a new Broadway show, inspired by the music made famous by International superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband musician/producer and entrepreneur Emilio Estefan.
The musical will be set in a way that tells the Estefans’ riveting life story detailing their journey all the way from Cuba to superstardom. Additional elements will be announced and worked through with a creative team that will be assigned at a later date.
With seven Grammy Awards and over 100 million albums sold worldwide, Gloria Estefan is the most successful crossover performer in the history of Latin music. No lie!
Don’t tell me you don’t know her hits — “Conga,” The Rhythm is Going To Get You” and “1, 2, 3″ among others. GLORIA is a celebratory favorite around the G-L-O-B-E!
She was won and been honored with practically a bajillion awards over the course of her career — including the American Music Award for Lifetime Achievement, MTV Music Video Awards, BMI Songwriter of the Year, and more and more and more. She was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and has received multiple Billboard Awards for her many chart-topping hits.
Her hubby, Emilio Estefan, is a world-renowned music, television and film producer who has been instrumental in shaping, developing and directing the careers of his superstar wife, as well as Shakira, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Jon Secada. With a resume that includes over 30 Grammy nominations and 19 Grammy Awards, Estefan has experimented and pushed the envelope of blending Latin, pop and world rhythms creating a unique style and personality that has created chart-topping worldwide hits.
“We are very excited to partner with the Nederlander Organization and Bernie Yuman to, after almost a decade of planning and developing, bring our music and life story to Broadway,” said Gloria and Emilio Estefan. “We are very excited to share this story, which is based on hope, determination and the belief that with hard work and passion, our dreams can become our reality. Our music has been a true reflection of who we are, where we came from and the journey that has brought us to where we are today. Our cultural roots, our life-defining challenges and the rewards that come with believing in yourself and striving for that which you believe in wholeheartedly, will be the foundation for this theatrical production. Sharing our life story through music will give us a new opportunity to honor our roots and, hopefully, to be able to inspire generations to come.”

After just recently leaving American Idol, pop star Jennifer Lopez has released the video for her new song “Goin’ In!” The video features a whirlwhind of neon colors, lots of dancers and booty shaking, and clubby beats that make you want to dance. J.Lo, who is constantly decked out in glitter, also shows off her sexy dance moves throughout the video.
“Goin’ In” was first heard on J.Lo’s greatest hits album, Dance Again… The Hits, which was released Tuesday (July 24), and is also featured on the soundtrack of dance film “Step Up: Revolution 3D.”
The track and video also feature Flo Rida and Lil Jon. “I’m a big fan of J.Lo,” Flo Rida told MTV. “Her people reached out to me. It was just an honor to get a call from J.Lo. [I'm a] big fan of her film work and her musical talent, and we did the collaboration ASAP.”

It’s official: Mariah Carey is the latest successful pop diva to join American Idol!
The 42-year-old will join the judges table for season 12. Her salary is expected to be somewhere north of $12 million — the sum paid Jennifer Lopez during her first year on the show — and possibly as high as $17 million.
Wowza! Go Mimi!
“It’s the biggest recording artist than any of these [singing competition] shows have ever had,” Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly told critics at their press tour in Beverly Hills on Monday. “It’s an artist many of these contestants have tried to emulate.”
The addition of Mimi comes on the heels of Steven Tyler quitting the show, and Fox being unable to convince Jennifer Lopez to sign on for a third round. Lopez was holding out for a raise beyond her $15 million second-year salary.
As of now, Randy Jackson (who is also Carey’s manager) is now expected to stay on board, though nothing has yet been announced.
Either way, Fox is expected to now focus on its search for another male judge. According to reports, former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert is being considered.
What do you think of Mariah joining the show? Will she improve Idol‘s ratings?

The brand’s rich base of celebrity fans includes Anne Hathaway, Zac Efron, Cameron Diaz, Ryan Phillippe, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie and Lady Gaga, among others.
