Reality TV was “never her thing,” but when 20-year-old Canadian model Jocelyn Chew was approached by producers and saw the coaches names — Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha — you could say she was more than intrigued by “The Face.”

The show, which airs on Oxygen, is hosted by Nigel Barker, who was a previous judge on another modeling competition, America’s Next Top Model for seventeen seasons. The new series follows the three supermodels as they compete with each other to find ‘the face’ of ULTA beauty.

Jocelyn auditioned for the show, and now? She’s in the Top 11 (of 24 chosen for the show) and is proudly repping “Team Naomi,” fighting for the win.

Naomi Campbell has still got it!

The 42-year-old model strikes a fierce pose for the newest issue of ELLE Magazine (on newsstands Jan. 15!) In the spread, she dishes about her new show The Face on Oxygen, that cell phone “incident,” and her relationship with Tyra Banks.

On mentoring girls on Oxygen’s The Face:

“When I first got Yves Saint Laurent couture, I didn’t know how to take off a cape. I would ask Katoucha and Dalma – the real divas of the runway – ‘Can you show me?’ I’ve never been afraid to ask for help… I care for my girls [on the show]. Every single one of them. I’m not here to put anyone down.”

On the infamous cell-phone-throwing incident:

“I’m never gonna get away from it. It’s part of my history. I was remorseful and regretful. I’ve served. I did that time. And I never want to be in that position again.”

On if she watches Tyra Banks’ America’s Next Top Model:

“I don’t watch the other reality model shows. I’ll never have anything to say. If you ask me about Tyra Banks, I’m proud of her as a woman of color. She’s given girls opportunity, and God bless her.”

Supermodel Naomi Campbell is still fierce — but believe it or not — she doesn’t look at herself as a “supermodel!”

In the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar (on newsstands now!) the 41-year-old model talks about her diet, her past, and the one word she absolutely can’t stand!

On her diet: “For me, carbs are a treat now.” Campbell, 41, is vigilant about her beauty routine too: steams, facials—“everything I can to keep my skin elasticated.” She says plastic surgery is fine“for those who do it for themselves and not to please someone else,” but she isn’t fazed about getting older. “I don’t worry about a number, I’m fine with aging.”

On her past: “Look, you have to make mistakes. That’s how you learn and that’s how the world works,” she says. “I’ve made a few.”

“What makes a person is the ability to look at themselves and deal with their own lives,”Campbell says. “How you deal [with your actions] is what defines you.”

While she’s made headlines for her antics and activism off the runway, Campbell, at her core, is still a supermodel. “But I would never call myself that,” she says, laughing. “I don’t have any superhuman powers.”

“I still love what I do,” she says. “It’s a new challenge to see how people can change your look. I like words like transformation, reinvention, and chameleon. Because one word I don’t like is predictable.”
