Last night (Mar 18), we attended Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie” RX Games and we had a blast!
The event had teams made up of nurses, nursing school students and consumers competing for up to $50,000 for their preferred charity and $10,000 for the winning team. Contestants raced against the clock in an obstacle course consisting of fun “medical themed” activities.
The games were intense as 16 teams competed for the top prize! No one walked away empty handed, each team received $1,000 to their selected charity.
Nurse Jackie herself, Edie Falco and Dr. Cooper, Peter Facinelli aka Dr. Cullen from the “Twilight” series films were on hand to present the grand prize check!
We were lucky enough to chat with Peter Facinelli, who is better looking in real life (which we didn’t think was possible) and one of the nicest men we’ve met.
Hmmm…to bad he’s married to Jennie Garth aka Kelly Talylor from “90210.”
We can only dream…
MJ: I heard you wanted to participate in the games?
PF: I want to go participate, but they won’t let me. It looks like so much fun!
MJ: What event would you like to do?
PF: Any of them! When they said we were going to have nurse games, I thought we were going to be playing them. We’re like Rudolph and they won’t let us play in all the Reindeer Games. (This is when we went from like Peter Facinelli to loving him!)
MJ: Are you and Nurse Jackie going to be bickering as much this season?
PF: You know our relationship is very complex and there’s always a lot of friction there. I like to think it is a Love-Hate relationship. I love her and she hates me.
MJ: Is it fun on the set?
PF: It’s always fun, I mean the material is so rich and there are times when I literally just start laughing during the takes and I can’t stop.
MJ: Is it difficult to go between such two different characters such as your character on “Nurse Jackie” and your role in the “Twilight” films?
PF: No it’s not difficult. They are such two different contrasting roles. When I was shooting “Eclipse,” I had a month overlap with “Nurse Jackie” and I was shooting both of them at the same time. So it was kind of refreshing to do that one character and get on a plane and go do this other character. It was a little maniacal and I kind of felt like “United States of Tara.”
MJ: When you are filming in New York, do you bring your family here?
PF: No its kind of like going to do a movie. You just go for three months and whenever I have a break I go home. When I was shooting “Eclipse” at the same time, I was doing a triangle from Vancouver to New York to LA.
MJ: You must have so many frequent flyer miles!
PF: I felt like George Clooney in “Up In The Air.”
MJ: Did you get a card?
PF: (laughing) Not yet but I’m working on it.
MJ: Your girls are just so cute. I’m sure they don’t watch “Nurse Jackie” but do they watch “Twilight?”
PF: Oh yeah they watch all the “Twilight” stuff. They are big fans.
MJ: I was on the subway today and there are “Nurse Jackie” posters everywhere, when you are in the city do you ever take the subway?
PF: I grew up in Queens and went to NYU here in Manhattan, so I used to take the subway all the time. I still take the subway. Sometimes its just easier to just jump on the subway when its trafficy or rainy
MJ: I’m a big fan of the subway as well.
PF: I actually wrote a movie called “Loosies,” that I’m shooting this summer and it has a lot to do with the Subway stops.
Peter Facinelli does it all! Hot! Great Dad! Actor! Writer! Director! Just thinking about him makes us blush!
